Sandy beaches Gonar, Velimel and island Maman
Rab beaches are popular as some of the best sandy beaches in Croatia and also most numerous in a single destination. Closest one to Villa Agata is Gonar beach, one of the popular sandy Rab beaches. At Gonar beach you will find also the most of beach activities and facilities available during holidays at Villa Agata. It takes about 3 minutes by a shortcut through a forest path, or 10 minutes walking by the road to get there.
GONAR BEACH
Gonar beach is recognisable by a tiny island “Boljkovac”, and is mostly sandy except for the walkway in the middle where you will also find restaurants and cafe’s. A long pier with plenty of moorings is positioned in the middle of the bay. The pier is relatively new and equipped with water and electricity for those who are staying with their boats or just pausing for a while on their boat tour around Rab island. Restaurants “More”, “Gonar” and “Marenda” within Gonar beach are very popular on the island for their choice of excellent seafood and sea views from their terraces. Some of those restaurants offer fish that was caught by the owners themselves. Cafe’s are positioned directly by the sea as well and are a great choice for a morning coffee, beach time snack or ice cream.
On the same walkway you will find a diving centre that beside diving classes, also offers diving equipment for rent. A boat with divers regularly takes tours to various diving locations on the island during summer.
Between restaurant “More” and the diving centre, you will also find a boat rental station. Here you can be informed about prices for a daily use of small to large boats. Offer also includes rubber boats from 5 HP to speedboats. Jet skis are available for rent as well.
BEACH VELIMEL
Beach Velimel is another beach within walking distance that is traditionally visited by house guests. It takes about 10 minutes to get there by walking from Villa Agata. Velimel is a sandy bay surrounded by thick forest and so is the pathway to the beach partly through the forest. It is a smaller sandy beach with no facilities. It is one of the secluded Rab beaches.
ISLAND MAMAN AND RAB BEACH FUZA
Island Maman and Beach Fuza are some of the wild Rab beaches with no facilities. Traditionally they is favored by guests who like the typical natural surrounding of island Rab and wilderness. In the back side of beach Fuza you will find natural dunes of sand and interesting desert-like sand formations surrounded by forest. Beach is partly sandy and partly rocks which are also convenient for sunbathing as they have large flat surfaces. Island Maman is accessible by boats or by walking accross a shallow rocky canal between Island Maman and Supetarska Draga Gonar and Villa Agata. Often yachts and boats on island Rab spend entire days on island Maman. Island Maman beaches are partially sandy, partially pebble and there are also also rocky beaches all around. There is even a cliff about 5-10 meters high where it is possible to jump into the sea. There are smaller isles around Maman like “Sridnjak”, popular to people on boats and yachts.
